ABOUT ME

Why I feel called to help others on their healing paths:

As I live an active lifestyle, I've had my share of injuries over the years: snowboarding, surfing, mountain biking , & car accidents.  It seemed like life was always sending me back to a healing path, literally!

Each injury served in a similar way; they gave me the opportunity to discover and receive different types of bodywork. As I look back, I realize that with each injury and its challenges, my world of healing opened even further. When I had to be quiet and honor the boundaries of my body, it offered me insights into mind and spirit that I would not have achieved any other way.

I began to realize not only is there a world to explore “out there,” but there is also an internal world containing some amazing depths for exploration and healing “right here.”

This is the space I hold for myself and my clients; a space of curiosity, patience, listening and nurturing, which allows clients to unwind, heal and come into balance.

Education:

I have a Bachelor of Arts from Western State College of Colorado. I’ve studied nationally under many gifted healers since 1996 and had my formal massage therapy training at the
International Professional School of Bodywork in San Diego, CA.  I hold a California certification in Massage Therapy (CCMT) and have been a member of Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP) since 2006.

Hobbies:

I love nature and the outdoors. I surf, snowboard, hike, bike, travel and explore nature. Growing up in Colorado I was blessed to have many adventures in the mountains before relocating to San Diego. Now I often find my heart and renewal time in the ocean or in the near-by mountains of Southern California.

I also have always been a creative and now design and fabricate my own jewelry line.  I include the healing properties of the semi-precious stones I work with in each piece: joycreativejewelry.com
